Rowing the Atlantic solo: West to East

a On 14th June 1998 Tori Murden, who was part of a failed attempt to row the Alantic as a 2-woman team during the Chay Blyth Atlantic Challenge, left North Carolina at the beginning of an attempt to be the first woman ever to row the North Atlantic solo.

She aims to make landfall in early September, after averaging over 40 miles per day in the early part of the race. Her email diaries are carried online by the Ocean Rowing Society, who are monitoring her efforts.
